Superfoods is a word that has been used for many decades referring to foods that provide the highest nutritional value. There are two major areas of life that will rob you of health. Your skin is the largest organ of your body and is a great diagnostic tool as to giving some insight into how well your body is functioning.

It is funny that Fresh, Wholesome foods are now being classed as Superfoods these being the Foods necessary for Optimal Health and Ageless Ageing
As mentioned, your skin is the largest organ of your body so whatever you put into place to improve the health of your skin will also improve your overall general health. So there are only two secrets to healthy glowing skin, that doesn’t include using copius amounts of makeup, or expensive, invasive therapies.
Two Elements to achieve Healthy skin without compromising your health include what you put in your body and the products you use on your body. It is important for the products you use on your body have ingredients that are from natural sources, not to have harmful chemicals, preservatives or additives.
Eat these 10 Key Super Foods Everday
To Support Healthy, Glowing and Ageless Skin
1: Blueberries – You can start your day with a blueberry and almond milk smoothie. You can have cottage cheese on toast topped with blueberries. Also, you can add them to salads.
2: Wild salmon — not farm-raised — is one of the best food sources for omega-3 fatty acids. Omega -3 fatty acids help to keep your skin supple and moisturized from the inside out. Salmon has selenium, a mineral that protects the skin from sun exposure. The Vitamin D in salmon will keep your bones and teeth strong and healthy. You can easily add salmon to your diet by grilling, baking or steaming. To add flavour use lemon, garlic and onion. Add it to your favourite pasta, salad, sushi or as an addition to a shared platter. By including other foods such as celery, kale, cucumber, grated beetroot, asparagus these are all superfoods when it comes to healthy skin.
3: Spinach – Baby or regular is loaded with powerful nutrients and antioxidants. Spinach also has lutein, this is supportive with healthy, sparkling eyes. Other nutrients found in spinach are vitamins B, C, E, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Exchange your lettuce for spinach it will provide you with far greater health benefits. As some variation you can sauté it with some kale, garlic, pine nuts and or almond slivers, making it a great side dish.
4: Oysters: Beef: Chicken: Tofu Pork: Nuts: Lentils: Yogurt: Oatmeal and Mushrooms – Are all excellent sources of Zinc. Eat 2 – 3 of these foods each day to get your daily requirement of zinc. Zinc plays a major role in healthy skin, hair and nails as well as being a great for supporting healthy immune function.
5: Tomatoes are the best source of the anti-aging antioxidant lycopene. You may well find this interesting that the lycopene in tomatoes is more easily absorbed by your body when it is cooked. So add tomatoes to your stir fries, your sautéed spinach or kale and enjoy the benefits.
6: Walnuts – a great source once again of omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin E. Walnuts make a great addition to baked vegetables and salads. I love to eat them when I munch on an apple.
7: Kiwi Fruit – one of the best sources of vitamin C. Loaded with antioxidants to help keep the skin firm, helping to prevent premature wrinkling of the skin. Aids detoxification therefore beneficial for overcoming acne. The antioxidant properties of vitamin C help to prevent cancer, heart disease whilst having great benefits for healthy skin, hair, nails and teeth. Nothing yummier than a banana and kiwi fruit smoothie made with almond or coconut milk.
8: Yogurt – Organic, plain Greek yogurt or Vanilla or Plain Coconut Yogurt are your best source of calcium. Assisting with strong healthy bones this is important for support of your skin, thus helping to prevent sagging skin. Add to your favourite smoothie, porridge in the morning with organic honey and slivered almonds.
9: Sweet Potatoes – Just the best source of beta carotene and antioxidant properties. Antioxidants help with the restoration process of the body by helping to eliminate the baddies. Sweet potatoes are probably tastiest roasted with some garlic and caraway seeds. To add flavour if mashing you can use dill or dill infused goats cheese mashed through also garlic infused olive adds that little extra flavour.
10: Celery – once again packed with vitamins A, C, K, potassium, selenium and B6. Celery also has great antioxidant and detoxification properties. Celery makes a great snack either on its own, with dips or adding cottage cheese or even peanut butter as a yummy snack.
These are just to name a few of the wonderful benefits that fresh fruit, vegetables and don’t forget your nuts and seeds will support a Healthier and Happier YOU! An easy way to include these foods into your diet each day is with a salad. For example: the Blueberries and kiwi fruit you could have as a fruit salad, for extra nourishment add an apple or banana then a half a cup of yogurt, either Greek or Vanilla Coconut Yogurt. And for the vegetables a fresh salad with some added feta or goats’ cheese, with some red onion, topped with some slivered almonds, or pine nuts either as an easy lunch or accompaniment to your evening meal.

By including these foods everyday will certainly have you on the way to improved health, energy and healthy skin. Never to forget that all Fresh Fruit, Vegetables, Lean meat, Chicken, Beans, Nuts and Seafood are Superfoods. They are the first area that you make positive changes that will improve your health, skin and ability to age well.
